Stuart and Tammy started Sandy Creek Farm Retrievers in 2001 when they  started training Chance, Tammy's first German Shorthair Pointer, for  NAVHDA hunt tests and as a hunting companion.  Since then, they have  trained multiple dogs for themselves, close friends, and clients who are  now friends.  Since 2008, they have focused most of their training time  on Labrador Retrievers.  Sandy Creek Farms Kokomo Two was the first  lab, training him from a Started puppy to GRHRCH and MH.  They found a  passion for training after their two daughters had graduated.

After  the girls moved out, Stuart and Tammy found hunt tests were a good way  to spend their free time.  That developed into a true passion for  creating the best hunt test dogs and true hunting companions possible.   They both strive to get the most out of every dog that passes through  their kennel and have never locked into just one training method.  Each  dog has his or her own unique set of abilities that can be enhanced with  the correct training methods. They are always looking to gain more  knowledge and learn new techniques in order to better serve their  clients.  Although they raise and breed chocolate labs, they train all  retrievers and gun dogs.
